Workshop on Table- Manners & Etiquettes
The session was commenced with a peppy video on good manners. Ms. Anupama and Ms. Jyoti started the session with a warm welcome and to make the session smooth, interactive and effective, they told participants to keep themselves on mute and share their opinions/views by raising their virtual hand or at the end of the session. Further, they helped the little ones in understanding- ‘what are table manners’ and ‘why manners and etiquettes are important’. They emphasised on the importance of using Magic words on the table and advised parents to use them frequently with the children. Most of the participants said that they use magic words, so they were given appreciation clap for their good behaviour.
Ms. Anupama and Ms. Jyoti shared the significance of praying before eating food and recited a Thank you prayer during the session. They gave detailed insight on the benefits of eating with calm and relaxed mind following table etiquettes.
Ms. Neha and Ms. Shivani took over the session here and divulged the little ones about Do’s and Don’ts while eating and sitting on the table. They elaborated on many points of good mannerism and etiquettes, like-the correct sitting posture, not to use electronic gadgets while eating meals, express gratitude to their family, eating food without fussing, laying of table, correct name & use of cutlery and many more.
Ms. Shivani and Ms. Neha then demonstrated the proper laying of cutlery on the table and how to use the cutlery in proper way. They summed up the workshop by recapitulating the do’s and don’ts discussed earlier during the session. She encouraged the children to follow these guidelines diligently and advised parents to keep motivating the young learners to imbibe these as habits. The session was concluded by sensitizing children against wastage of food, which was followed by a feedback form.
