The school seeks to keep children and young people safe by:
- Providing an enabling environment for children’s, physical, social, emotional, moral and intellectual development
- Valuing them, listening to and respecting them
- Be inclusive and involve all children without selection or exclusion on the basis of gender, disability, ethnicity, religion or any other status
- Adopting child protection practices through procedures and a code of conduct for staff and volunteers
- Developing special measures/supervision to protect younger and especially vulnerable children from peer and adult abuse
- Providing effective management for staff and volunteers through supervision, support and training
- Sharing information about child protection and good practices with children, parents, staff and volunteers
- Developing clear rules to address specific physical safety issues in the school campus
Responsibilities
- Appropriate training for staff to address their responsibilities to protect children from abuse;
- Conduct of police verification of all staff and non-teaching staff like bus drivers, conductors, peon, etc.;
- Conduct of security/safety audit of school premises and personnel from local police station and follow security related advice including installation of CCTV cameras;
- Constitution of committees like safety committees to address safety needs of students;
- Display of members of committee on the school website
